Rathdowney Golf Club is a parkland golf course established in 1930 in southwestern County Laois, Ireland, covering 104 acres of countryside. Originally a 9-hole course, it was extended to 18 holes in 1997 under the design guidance of renowned golf course architect Pat Ruddy. The course offers a pleasant round with mature fairways and challenging holes that have developed over decades of play. Located just five minutes from the M7 (Junction 21) and M8 (Junction 3) motorways, the club provides a scenic setting typical of the Laois landscape. In recent years, a new clubhouse with modern facilities was constructed, enhancing the club's amenities. Beyond golf, the facility includes The Willow Tree bar and restaurant, which serves the public and hosts societies and open events. The course represents a significant achievement in Irish provincial golf, with ongoing investment maintaining its competitive playing conditions and appeal to golfers of various abilities.
