Rancho Del Lago

Del Lago Golf Club, located in Vail, Arizona, approximately 20 minutes from downtown Tucson, is a private 18-hole championship course built by Nugent Golf Associates. Situated at 3,400 feet elevation within the master-planned Rancho del Lago community, the course features par 72 and plays up to 7,206 yards from the black tees with a slope rating of 141.

The layout showcases dramatic elevation changes of 120 feet, with the opening hole positioned at the highest point before descending into the valley. The back nine runs along Pantano Wash through high desert terrain, offering distinctive views of the Rincon Mountains and Santa Catalina Mountains. Seven lakes come into play across six holes, presenting strategic challenges on drives and approach shots. Strong bunkering around the greens adds additional difficulty.

The course features multiple forced carries and is designed to accommodate golfers of all skill levels through five tee boxes. Tif Eagle Bermuda greens and Bermuda fairways, overseeded with rye in winter, maintain year-round playability. The finishing hole is a demanding uphill par-4 of 421 yards with water hazards affecting two shots. All rounds require golf cart usage due to course layout and pace of play considerations.
