In 2008, the course underwent significant improvements including a complete green renovation using heat-resistant A-1/A-4 bent grass blend and renovated sand bunkers with improved drainage systems.

The course presents moderate to challenging difficulty with notable elevation changes and strategic hazards including fairway bunkers and a creek. Hole 4 is ranked as the most difficult, playing as an uphill par 5 at 546 yards from the championship tees. Hole 8, a par 3 stretching over 230 yards, is considered among the toughest. Hole 16, the longest on the course at 608 yards, features a dramatic dogleg right with a creek crossing. Several holes reference the course's 1898 original design heritage. The layout includes five par 3s, thirteen par 4s, and five par 5s, with doglegs and elevation changes providing strategic variety throughout the round.
