The La Quinta Golf Course is a Jack Miller design from 1970 located in the Quail Valley neighborhood of the Houston area. This 18-hole, par-71 course stretches from 5,486 to 6,920 yards across five tee settings, offering excellent public-access value. The predominantly flat layout features generous fairways and small, elevated greens with subtle, tricky undulations influenced by grain patterns.

Water hazards are a defining characteristic, coming into play on 13 of the 18 holes. Mature trees line the fairways, allowing free-swinging off the tee for controlled shots, though water penalties loom near greens on several par 3s and throughout the routing. The course winds through the residential neighborhood with Bermuda grass fairways and greens.

The La Quinta course holds notable tournament history as part of the Houston Open PGA Tour event, which used a hybrid routing combining holes from both La Quinta and the adjacent El Dorado course. The tournament routing specifically incorporated holes 1-3 and 13-18 from La Quinta, highlighting the course's championship-caliber design and playability.
