Posse Course ☆ Follow

The 18-hole Posse course features 6,768 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Designed by Craig Schreiner, ASGCA, the Posse golf course opened in 1982. The course features bluegrass fairways, rolling terrain and beautiful lake views. Its front nine stretches out along the lake before turning away from the water, but towards other hazards and challenges. Trees, smaller lakes, and the ever-present wind off the lake make The Posse a formidable foe for any golfer.

The course rating is 71.8 and it has a slope rating of 125. This layout features five water hazards and a beautiful view of the lake. A popular tournament course that is well managed. Four sets of tee markers make it playable for all. The course is visually interesting with strategically placed bunkers and gently rolling slopes. The bunkers and slopes are masterfully arranged to make landing areas seem smaller and greens look a little tougher than they really are.

The course offers exciting views of Smithville Lake along with its natural wildlife habitats. The course was named in homage to Jesse James, a native to this area.
