Phokeethra Country Club is Cambodia's first championship golf course, located in the Cambodian countryside near Angkor Wat in Siem Reap Province. The 18-hole course was remodeled by renowned course architect Major General Weerayudth Phetbuasak and features rolling fairways, generous greens, and integrated water features set within the natural landscape.
The course design reflects its historic setting, with the tagline "Tee off in the 11th century, finish your round in the 21st century," referencing the ancient Khmer Empire heritage sites in the region. The layout presents challenges suitable for golfers of all skill levels through its intriguing design and topography.
Phokeethra gained international recognition as host of the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open from 2007-2010, a prestigious week-long tournament attracting top Asian and international professional golfers. This tournament established the club's position as a premier golfing facility in the region and contributed to developing golf tourism in Cambodia.
The clubhouse facilities include a terrace restaurant with course views, fully equipped lockers with shower facilities, a pro shop stocking major golf brands, club rentals, and professional caddie services. The club received recognition as Best Asia Pacific Golf Resort of the Year in 2020.
