Located in Ohtaki, Chiba, Otaki Castle Golf Club is a 27-hole championship resort situated on a vast hillside adjacent to the historic Ohtaki Castle. The course was designed by Gary Player and Takeaki Kaneda, opening in December 1992. The facility features three distinct nine-hole loops—East, Central, and West—offering a total of 27 holes with a par of 36 for each loop. The terrain is characterized by flat fairways that spread across the elevated landscape, providing a strategic test for golfers. The course layout demands precision and strategy, with hazards such as lateral water, out-of-bounds areas, and strategically placed bunkers defining the challenge. The Central nine includes notable holes like the 223-yard par-3 eighth, where the green is obscured from the tee, and the 603-yard par-7 seventh, which features narrow fairways and numerous bunkers. The West nine presents a demanding 205-yard par-3 sixth that requires a carry over water, while the East nine features a 567-yard valley-crossing fifth hole with significant slope on the green. Green conditions are maintained with Bentgrass cut to 3.0mm, with a typical green speed of 8.5. The resort offers a clubhouse with a restaurant, a 230-yard driving range with 19 bays, and an approach practice area. Play is available via a choice of caddie service or pull-cart self-play. The course is accessible by car, located approximately 35 minutes from Ichihara Interchange and 28 minutes from Kisarazu-Higashi Interchange.
