Omagh Golf Club

Omagh Golf Club evolved from a testing nine-hole course established in 1910 by renowned designer G.L. Bailie into an 18-hole parkland layout in 1983 under architect Don Patterson. Located in West Tyrone, Northern Ireland, the course is famed for its demanding par fours and exceptional greens, regularly selected to host Golfing Union of Ireland events.

The front nine features the Drumragh River extensively, presenting significant challenges, while the mid-way section contains a notable hazard requiring careful navigation. The back nine concludes with a teasing par four through forest, offering panoramic views of Omagh and surrounding countryside. The course demands strategic shot selection and rewards players who use the full range of clubs.

A comprehensive drainage operation completed in 2000 ensures year-round playing conditions. The club, hosting over 600 members, has produced notable graduates including Canadian PGA professional Gareth Raflewski and Jamega Tour golfer Nial Kearns. The course's reputation attracted visits from golfing legends Christy O'Connor Jnr and Nick Faldo in the 1980s, both acknowledging its challenging character and establishing it as one of the province's finest parkland courses.
