Old American Golf Club is an 18-hole semi-private course in The Colony, Texas, a suburb north of Dallas, located along Lewisville Lake in Denton County and opened for play in 2010. The course features 7,175 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71, with a course rating of 75.8 and a slope rating of 144. The course was designed by Tripp Davis and tour professional Justin Leonard.
Old American is a tribute to early American golf architecture with designs such as Shinnecock, National Golf Links, and Garden City used as inspiration. The back nine is routed along the shores of Lake Lewisville, with naturally-formed bunkers and native grasses creating an unforgettable round. All but four holes have lake views. The course sits along wind-swept terrain next to Lake Lewisville featuring tabletop greens and short wooden flagsticks.
Old American was named Golf Magazine's No. 5 'Best Public Golf Course' in Texas, making it the highest ranked course in the Metroplex. The course began hosting the Volunteers of America LPGA Tour event (previously called the LPGA Texas Classic) starting in May 2018. The tournament continues to be held at Old American annually, attracting the world's top female professional golfers.
