The North Course at Daytona Beach Golf Club is an 18-hole course in Daytona Beach, Florida featuring 6,413 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 70 with a slope rating of 120. The course was designed by Lloyd Clifton, ASGCA. The original course was built and designed by Slim Deathridge in 1946, who laid out the original routing and supervised construction. The golf course was re-built in 1997 with all greens, bunkers, and tees redone.
The course winds its way through dense Florida oak and pine with more water in play and undulated greens that add to the overall challenge. The North Course is generally recognized as the toughest test of the two courses at the facility. The North Course is the annual host of the Daytona Beach Open, an event that counts PGA Tour player Nick Lindheim among its past champions. Notable features include the 5th hole, a 290-yard par 4 offering risk-reward decisions for long hitters, and the 17th, a 444-yard par 5 with an island green.
