The New Course at the Royal Homburger Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course designed by A. Klapproth, situated in Bad Homburg on the slopes of the Taunus mountains. The course spans 48 hectares and features a total length of 4,392 meters from the yellow tees and 3,871 meters from the red tees, with a combined par of 66. The layout is characterized by doglegs, strategically placed bunkers, and narrow fairways that demand precise shot-making and course management. Water hazards, including ponds and streams, are integrated throughout the 18 holes, adding to the strategic complexity of the round. The course is noted for its elevation changes and scenic views, particularly on the 16th hole. The tee box for this par-4 is situated on a plateau 30 meters above the surrounding terrain, offering a view that extends to the Frankfurt skyline, the Spessart, and the Odenwald. The layout is designed to be challenging for golfers of all skill levels, with the club describing it as one of the more demanding courses in Germany due to its limited margin for error. The New Course has hosted significant competitive golf, including the Bad Homburg Open. German tour player Erol Simsek, who won the tournament in 1995, has cited the course as a particular challenge that provides a "special kick" for professional players. The course features a variety of hole lengths, ranging from the short 7th hole at 95 meters from the yellow tees to the long 4th hole at 441 meters, requiring a diverse range of clubs and strategies from its players.
