Neshanic Valley Golf Course ☆ Follow

Neshanic Valley Golf Course is a public course operated by the Somerset County Park Commission in Branchburg, New Jersey. The facility opened to the public on Labor Day weekend in 2004 with play on the Meadow and Lake nines, with the Ridge nine opening in 2005. The three championship nine-hole courses—Meadow, Lake, and Ridge—each feature par 36 and five sets of tees, with 18-hole combinations ranging from 5,050 to 7,108 yards. The course was designed by Hurdzan/Fry Golf Course Design, whose notable credits include Hamilton Farm Golf Club and the 2017 U.S. Open site Erin Hills Golf Course. Carved from 420 acres of rolling farmland, the facility covers 350 acres with the architects taking full advantage of the existing topography.

The course features rolling fairways, tees, and greens of creeping bentgrass with large bunkers guarding putting surfaces, ample fescue found off the fairways, and environmentally sensitive wetland areas coming into play throughout. The greens are designed with subtle undulations to increase the challenge of play. In addition to the 27 holes of championship golf, the facility includes a 9-hole Academy Course, the Callaway Golf Performance Center, and a Learning Center with a double-ended driving range, short-game practice area, large putting green, and two practice holes.

Golfweek ranks Neshanic Valley as one of the Top 50 Municipal Courses in the United States. The course has hosted significant tournaments including the 2007 Metropolitan Golf Association Men's Public Links Championship, the 2009 New Jersey State Golf Association Women's Amateur Championship, the 2012 United States Golf Association Women's Public Links Championship, and the 2014 New Jersey State Golf Association Men's Public Links Championship.
