Necochea Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 course located in southern Buenos Aires Province near the Atlantic Ocean, at the mouth of the Río Quequén. The layout spans 38 hectares with 6,291 yards for men and 5,437 yards for women, featuring two tee options per hole.
The course was designed in the early 1950s by engineer Luther Koontze, who collaborated with renowned designer Alistair MacKenzie (known for co-designing Augusta National with Bobby Jones). The course is characterized by challenging holes set within a picturesque landscape offering unique views and atmosphere year-round.
The routing divides into two nine-hole loops (Ida and Vuelta), with holes distributed across the coastal terrain. The combination of ocean proximity, river valley setting, and strategic hole design creates a notably difficult test for players of all skill levels. The course's design reflects the influence of classical golf architecture principles brought to Argentina through MacKenzie's legacy.
