The 18-hole course was originally opened in 1969 by founder Tadaichi Kambara and was expanded to 27 holes in 1981 before being reconfigured into its current 18+3 format in 2015. The course is certified by the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JJGA) and is designed to challenge golfers, with a stated concept of being "slightly difficult" to help players improve their skills. The tournament course features a total par of 72, with yardages varying between regular and back tees. The front nine includes a mix of par 4s, par 3s, and par 5s, with the back nine continuing this variety. Notable holes include the 16th hole, a par 3 measuring 231 yards from the back tees, and the 17th hole, a par 5 stretching to 582 yards. The course is known for its "F1 Greens," which are maintained at a high speed during the on-season, reaching 10 feet or more on the Stimpmeter, to provide a challenging putting surface. Nasu Ogawa has a significant history in Japanese women's professional golf, hosting the Nasu Ogawa Ladies Professional Golf Tournament for 20 consecutive years from 1982 to 2001. This event was the only women's professional tournament in Japan hosted solely by a golf course at the time. The course has also hosted various amateur and university competitions, including the KGA Club Championship Tochigi Prefecture Qualifying and the Governor's Cup. The practice "Plus 3" course offers three holes of varying lengths (long, short, and middle) for lessons and practice rounds.
