Nakayama Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 layout located in Kashiwa, Chiba, situated within a forest setting spanning 759,000 square meters. Designed by Nobukatsu Marumo and opened in September 1961, the course features an out-and-in routing with yardages ranging from 6,695 to 6,904 yards depending on the tees played. The course utilizes both Korean bentgrass and bentgrass greens, with course ratings of 73.1 and 71.9 respectively. The terrain is characterized by wide fairways and strategically placed bunkers and water hazards that contribute to its reputation as a top-tier layout in the Kanto region. The course is anchored by its signature fifth hole, a par-3 that requires a shot over water. This hole is noted for its difficulty, with the potential to yield scores comparable to a par-5 if players are not careful. The green complex on the fifth hole features a two-tiered surface on the Korean bentgrass variant, requiring precise approach shots. The first hole serves as a strong opener, a 516-yard par-5 that encourages controlled driving with a large tree as a focal point, while the closing eighteenth hole presents a dramatic finish. The eighteenth is a par-4 that features a significant downhill slope from the tee followed by an uphill approach to the green, with the second shot played from a left-to-right slope. Nakayama Country Club offers a variety of hole lengths to accommodate different skill levels, with specific yardages designated for back, regular, gold, and ladies' tees. The front nine totals 3,426 yards from the back tees, while the back nine measures 3,478 yards. The course includes several long par-5s, including the sixth and thirteenth holes, which exceed 500 yards from the back markers. Shorter par-3s, such as the seventh and seventeenth holes, provide scoring opportunities but demand accuracy. The facility also includes a 200-yard driving range with 20 hitting bays, as well as approach and bunker practice areas.
