Muirkirk Golf Club is a 9-hole moorland course established in 1991 in East Ayrshire, Scotland. Set amongst the dramatic hills of the local area, the course features holes with names evocative of the region, including Kaimes, Wee Strickland, and McAdam's Stane. The course has a par of 68 and measures approximately 5,049 yards from the white tees, with the opening hole being the par-4 Kaimes (294 yards) and the longest hole the par-4 Dykeside (436 yards).
The course presents a challenging layout that demands accuracy and course management. It features a mix of par-3s and par-4s with numerous hazards requiring careful navigation. The relatively short yardage and open fairways make it accessible while the strategic hazards, including out-of-bounds areas close to fairways, provide substantial challenge. The parkland setting offers good-looking views across the East Ayrshire hills.
Muirkirk Golf Club was resurrected in 1972 after the original club closed in 1956, with the current Southside Golf Course opening in May 1991 following years of dedicated member efforts and grants from various bodies. The club celebrated 100 years of golf in Muirkirk in 2010.
