Montenmedio Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole course set within the municipality of Vejer de la Frontera in the province of Cádiz, on the Costa de la Luz. The course was established in 1996 and designed by Alejandro Maldonado. It plays to a par of 72 over 6,260 metres, with a slope rating of 132. The layout occupies part of a large traditional Andalusian dehesa — a managed landscape of open woodland — and is positioned between two protected natural areas: the Natural Park of La Breña and the Marismas del río Barbate wetlands. No residential development overlooks the fairways or greens, a quality that sets it apart from many courses in the region and preserves a strong sense of natural immersion throughout the round.

The course follows the natural contours of the softly rolling terrain, with wide fairways lined by stands of stone pine, cork oak, and wild olive trees, many of them centuries old. The composition of four par-3s, ten par-4s, and four par-5s provides a varied test across the round, with the par-5s notable for their length and dogleg complications. The 12th hole, a par-5 of around 550 metres, is often cited as a standout. Bermuda grass fairways and Pennlinks greens are maintained to a high standard. On clear days, the views from various points on the course extend to the white villages of Vejer de la Frontera, Benalup, and Medina Sidonia, and across to the African coast near Tangier. Wildlife including deer, mouflon, fallow deer, rabbits, herons, golden eagles, and the critically endangered Northern Bald Ibis, which has taken up residence within the estate, can be encountered during a round.

The wider Montenmedio estate operates as a country pursuits centre converted from an old Andalusian finca, without the hotels or housing clusters common to resort courses. Beyond golf, the property includes one of the largest equestrian centres in Europe, capable of housing several thousand horses, and is a significant venue for international show jumping. The clubhouse is built in an Andalusian neoclassical style with Asian decorative influences. Practice facilities include a driving range of over 200 metres with natural grass tees, a putting green, pitching green, and practice bunker.
