The Montecristi Golf Club is an 18-hole public golf course located in Manabí, Ecuador, within the secure, gated Montecristi Golf Resort & Villas. The course was founded by Carlos Gonzalez-Artigas Diaz, who initially developed a nine-hole layout consisting of holes 1, 2, 3, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 18. Over time, the remaining holes were added to complete the full championship-level layout. The facility is designed to offer a challenging experience for golfers, featuring practice areas for skill development and a unique culinary venue known as the Hoyo 19 Sports Bar. The course is situated in a landscape described as natural and beautiful, complementing the resort's focus on health, vitality, and wellness. Montecristi Golf Club has established itself as a significant venue in Ecuador's golfing scene, hosting national tournaments such as the National Open and the Junior Tour. It attracts players from various esteemed clubs across the country, including La Costa, Guayaquil Country Club, Arrayanes, Los Cerros, Los Chillos, Quito Tennis and Golf Club, and Cuenca Tennis and Golf. The course also serves as a venue for private events, including weddings and milestone celebrations, supported by on-site catering services.
