Moate Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course located in County Westmeath, Ireland, situated just off the M6 Motorway, less than an hour from Dublin and Galway. Founded in 1900, the course is set in gently rolling terrain with distinctive historical features including a medieval Bull Ring, a refurbished Lime Kiln, and the "Soldiers Bunkers" dating to the Jacobite war.
The course offers a fair challenge to golfers of all abilities, with multiple tee options providing varying difficulty levels. Course ratings range from 71.0 to 72.8, with slope ratings between 123 and 135 across different tees. Recent course developments include expanded tee boxes on holes 3 and 4, and a redesigned 9th hole featuring a pot bunker on the fairway.
Moate has earned a strong reputation within the golfing community, winning three All-Ireland pennants. The club hosts a popular Thursday open competition from April to October and runs regular weekly competitions for members across all categories. The clubhouse features a golf shop open year-round and the Par 3 Restaurant offering full bar and catering facilities from April onwards.
