Midland Trail Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland/links design course located in eastern Jefferson County, Kentucky, along the historic Midland Trail (US Highway 60). Designed by pioneering golf architect Edward Lawrence Packard, the course stretches over 6,800 yards and features a par 72 layout.
The course is characterized by large, multi-canted greens and strategically placed bunkers built into mounds, reflecting Packard's design philosophy of creating playable yet challenging golf. The facility offers stunning "million dollar" views from the clubhouse and opening tees overlooking the valley farmland.
A signature feature is Hole 5, a double dogleg par 5 that exemplifies Packard's architectural signature. The course presents moderate to challenging difficulty with several notable holes, including the scenic par 3 Hole 12 with extensive water hazards, and the strategically demanding back nine featuring elevated tees and creek hazards.
The course incorporates natural elements including Floyds Fork creek, tree-lined fairways, and protected green complexes with both sand and turf bunkers. Established by friends sharing a vision to enjoy golf together, Midland Trail Golf Club represents quality post-WWII golf design.
