Middelburg Country Club is located in Mpumalanga, South Africa, centrally positioned within easy reach of Gauteng, the Lowveld, and Northern Eastern Mpumalanga. The course was originally established in 1903 by Imperial British Troops following the Anglo Boer War. Following relocation and reconstruction, the club was officially reopened on 23 August 1967 on municipal land. During the 1970s, renowned designer Gary Player designed the second nine holes of the course.

The club sits in a strategically advantageous location, with proximity to major attractions including Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon, and Pilgrim's Rest, all within 150-250km radius. Nearby amenities include Loskop Dam, Middelburg Dam, and various cultural sites.
