Merriwa Golf Club is a nine-hole sand greens golf course located in Merriwa, a small town on the Golden Highway in the Upper Hunter Shire, approximately two hours' drive from Sydney, halfway between Newcastle and Dubbo in an agriculturally rich region. The course plays to par 72 across 5,966 yards and was established in 1974 when the golf club amalgamated with the Merriwa Bowling Club to become part of the Merriwa Sports Club.

The course features a unique sand greens layout with no bunkers or water hazards. The primary challenge comes from maintaining accuracy to navigate the out-of-bounds fencing that borders the fairways and the eucalyptus trees scattered throughout the layout. The par 72 course is characterized as a comfortable walk for players of all levels. Golfers may encounter native wildlife and farm life during their round, adding to the rural character of the course.

Merriwa Golf Club welcomes visitors daily for casual rounds of golf. The facility is part of the Merriwa Sports Club complex, which includes dining facilities and amenities. The course offers a distinctive rural golf experience distinct from manicured city courses.
