Pantai Mentiri Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course located 15.5 kilometers along Kota Batu Road in Brunei Darussalam. The layout measures 6,105 meters in length and is situated in Mukim Mentiri, offering scenic views of Brunei Bay. The course is easily accessible from Bandar Seri Begawan, the Gadong Commercial Centre, and Brunei International Airport, with driving times ranging from 10 to 20 minutes depending on the starting point. The design is characterized by strategic water hazards that shape both risk and reward throughout the round. Immaculately maintained greens, complemented by finely contoured and manicured aprons, demand accuracy and thoughtful approach play. The terrain features humped ridges, raised tee boxes, and varied fairway contours that test precision and composure. For players with a handicap of 10 and above, achieving a net par remains a demanding pursuit, while the layout offers a pure test of skill for seasoned golfers and professionals. Notable holes include the 10th, a par 3 that draws gallery attention with a tee shot over a pond and a bunker protecting the front left of a steeply sloping green. The 11th is the shortest par 5 on the course, featuring a lagoon on the far right and a bunker guarding the left of the green. The 18th hole requires a tee shot of 160 to 170 meters over a pond, with a bunker on the front left and a ridge on each side protecting the green. Water hazards, including ponds and a lagoon, are prominent features, with the 17th hole presenting a difficult challenge due to a pond and a mangrove swamp located all the way on the left of the fairway. The course has a significant tournament history, having hosted the 20th SEA Games in 1999. This recognition established the venue as a premier destination for golf events in the region.
