Memorial Park Golf Course, established in 1936, is a renowned municipal course in Houston known for its historical significance and quality play. Originally developed from a 9-hole military course at Camp Logan, architect John Bredemus redesigned and expanded it to its current layout, which he famously called his "greatest golf course ever."
The 600-acre course is set within Houston's Memorial Park, featuring lighted driving and practice facilities along with a modern clubhouse. It has earned recognition as one of the nation's best municipal courses, attracting over 50,000 players annually.
The course has a storied tournament history, serving as the home of the Houston Open from 1951 to 1963 and hosting legendary golfers including Babe Didrikson Zaharias, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Jimmy Demaret. A comprehensive restoration campaign beginning in 1994 preserved the course's historical character while modernizing facilities for contemporary play.
Memorial Park offers flexible pricing for residents and non-residents, with various rate options for weekday, weekend, and twilight rounds. Cart and club rentals are available, supporting accessibility for all skill levels.
