Mays Landing Golf Club is an 18-hole public course designed by Leo Fraser, former president of the PGA of America, with both advanced and beginning golfers in mind. The course measures 6,633 yards at the longest tees and plays to a par of 72. Located on 175 acres in the pristine Pinelands of Atlantic County, the course was meticulously designed with scenic tree-lined fairways.
While the layout offers a fair amount of challenges, Fraser wanted the course to appeal to players of all skill levels. Ponds come into play on five holes, and the undulating greens are sloped with wind often being a factor. The signature hole is the par-4 sixth, which requires a long straight tee shot to avoid a waste area on the right, features a small green with a bunker to the left and water to the right, and typically plays into prevailing winds. The course opened in 1962 with an exhibition match between Sam Snead and Tony Lema.
