Located in Mazatlán, Mexico, the El Cid Golf & Country Club features a 27-hole, par-72 championship layout established in 1972. The facility is divided into three distinct nine-hole courses: the Marina, Moro, and Castilla courses. The Marina Course, designed by PGA Tour legend Lee Treviño, is characterized by wide fairways and numerous shots played directly over or alongside ponds and canals. It serves as the most scenic option among the three, offering a fun round with a fair challenge for players of all skill levels. The Moro Course provides a sterner test, described as the perfect balance of challenge and beauty. It is home to two of the most demanding holes in Mazatlán, played in succession at the 7th and 8th. The 8th hole, known as "The Monster," is a 611-yard par-5 that qualifies as one of the club's best holes during the Pro Tour stop. Embraced by tall, majestic palms, this course rewards consistency and challenges long hitters. The Castilla Course is the most approachable and forgiving of the three, featuring short, pleasurable holes and a tranquil setting with open spaces and tall vegetation. Its signature hole is the 3rd, a par-3 with water running down the right side of the entire hole. This design challenges single-digit handicap players while providing entertainment for higher handicap golfers. The club has a history of hosting professional events, with the Moro Course's 8th hole specifically noted for its role during the Pro Tour stop. The facility also includes a driving range, putting green, and a clubhouse with dining options. The layout has expanded from its original nine-hole configuration to the current 27 holes, maintaining its status as a premier golf destination in the Golden Zone of Mazatlán.
