Maple Dale Country Club is located in Dover, Delaware, on land with significant historical roots dating to the colonial era. The course began as a three-hole layout constructed in 1922 by Daniel O. Hastings on Maple Dale Farm, later expanding to nine holes under the design of R. H. Johnson of Wilmington. The club describes itself as offering "a true links experience" and is characterized as wide open with fairly receptive greens that present a suitable test for golfers of all skill levels.

The property maintains its historical character, with one of the original structures from the David family still standing as a residence overlooking the 16th green and 17th tee. Today, Maple Dale Country Club serves both members and the public, hosting numerous Delaware state golf events, PGA tournaments, and AJGA junior events annually. The course is positioned as a regional golfing destination, combining its historic setting with modern amenities and a well-maintained layout designed to accommodate diverse playing abilities.
