Makefield Highlands Golf Club is an 18-hole course in Yardley, Pennsylvania, featuring 7,058 yards of golf for a par of 72. Designed by Rick Jacobson, the links style golf course has five sets of tees and has been recognized by Golf Week Magazine as the #9 Golf Course You Can Play in PA (2013) and by Golf Range Association of America as one of the Top 50 Public Range Facilities. Located on the former Pleasant Valley Estate Farm in historic Bucks County, with history traced to the early eighteenth century, the 168 acres became Makefield Highlands in 2004 as part of an original Penn Grant.
The course is a links style layout with very few internal trees that can be stretched over 7,000 yards from the back tees and typically plays firm and fast, especially during summer. The design emphasizes risk-reward golf, with signature holes including the short par-4 fourth hole featuring a downhill fairway and sand trap, and the par-4 closing hole 18 with a narrow tee shot over a creek and elevated green guarded by large bunkers.
Makefield Highlands hosts numerous events including the Lower Bucks County Pro-Am and the Golf Association of Philadelphia U.S. Open Qualifier. The course opened in 2004 and the club marked its 20th anniversary. The stone Manor House, a registered historical landmark, sets the stage for golfing and dining experiences on the property.
