Located in the rolling hills of the Boso Peninsula in Ichihara, Chiba, Lotte Minayoshidai Country Club is an 18-hole course designed by Hirochika Tomizawa. Spanning 500,000 square meters, the layout was established with the theme of "relaxed golf," featuring wide fairways and gentle undulations that allow for generous shot placement. The course opened on October 21, 1989, and offers a total par of 72, with a back tee yardage of 6,583 yards and a regular tee yardage of 6,187 yards. The front nine presents a mix of doglegs and elevation changes, starting with a left-dogleg par-4 at 334 yards where a tree in the fairway can obstruct approach shots. The fourth hole, a straight 384-yard par-4, is designated as a recommended drive-distance hole, featuring a fairway bunker on the left and out-of-bounds to the right. The fifth hole, a 557-yard par-5, is described as the most difficult on the course, with out-of-bounds running along the right side from tee to green and three bunkers guarding the putting surface. The ninth hole finishes the front nine with a right-dogleg par-4 and a two-tiered green that slopes from left to right. The back nine begins with a 497-yard par-5 that plays over water on the left side and features a mushroom-shaped green surrounded by four bunkers. The eleventh hole is a short 130-yard par-3 where the green is protected by a water hazard to the left and multiple bunkers. The thirteenth hole, a 372-yard par-4, requires precision off the tee as both sides are out of bounds, leading to a horseback-shaped green that demands accurate distance control. The seventeenth hole, a 478-yard par-5, offers a chance for long hitters to reach the green in two, though a bunker in front of the putting surface requires a carry shot. The eighteenth hole serves as a testing finish, playing uphill to a two-tiered green where the pin location can make distance judgment difficult. The course design encourages various course management strategies, with the fourth and fourteenth holes recommended for drive distance and the third and eleventh holes recommended for proximity to the pin. The layout provides multiple ways to navigate each hole, challenging golfers to make strategic decisions regarding club selection and shot placement throughout the round.
