The course features 3,136 yards from the longest tees with a par of 36. It was designed by Frank James and William H. Tucker, the latter a notable architect who also designed Sand Point Country Club and Olympia Country Club. The design incorporates the undulating natural terrain to create challenges for all skill levels. The men's course rating is 69.2 with a slope of 121, while the women's rating is 73.7 with a slope of 125, with different tee placements providing varying difficulty for experienced and recreational golfers alike. Built in 1924 on land originally homesteaded by the Nix family, the course has been in operation for nearly a century. Members benefit from excellent practice facilities and well-maintained conditions without the requirement for advance tee times, along with scenic views of Mount Rainier from the course.
