Leewood Golf Club was opened in 1922 and designed by famed golf course architect Devereux Emmet. The course is located on 99 acres of pristine lower Westchester County property and provides golfers with a unique 18-hole experience. The par is 70 and the length is 6420 yards, though some sources list it as par 71. The course is known for its tight driving areas, fast greens and hilly terrain. Water hazards including two large lakes and several streams come into play on a number of holes, and the undulating greens are average speed.
The course is described as a shot maker's course but provides a fun and challenging experience for all skill levels, with beautiful fairways, perfect greens, and picturesque terrain. Devereux Emmet's other notable course designs include Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, MD, The Garden City Men's Club in Garden City, NY, and the original course at Fenway Country Club in Scarsdale, NY. The course hosts family golf events, junior golf tournaments, men's and women's Member Guest tournaments, charity events, and men's, women's and junior Club Championships.
