Lake Mohawk Golf Club's 18-hole course in Sparta, New Jersey features 6,885 yards for a par of 72 and was designed by Duer Irving Sewall, opening in 1928. The course has a rating of 73.0 with a slope rating of 126 on bentgrass greens. The scenic course is nestled between Lake Mohawk and a high Alpine ridge at the base of Sparta Mountain.

The small greens were designed to challenge shot-making, and putting surfaces have been characterized by visiting PGA Tour professionals as equal to any in professional tournaments. World-renowned architect Pete Dye conducted an evaluation of the course, leading to improvements including added sand traps, removal of rocks and ledge in fairways, extended tees, and softened greens. The facility includes an onsite driving range with practice tees.

Lake Mohawk Golf Club regularly hosts the New Jersey State Golf Association (part of the USGA) and New Jersey State PGA tournaments. The club represents a member-operated, volunteer-oriented equity golf club where the meticulously maintained course continues to evolve and challenge lovers of the game.
