Lake Carlsbad Municipal Golf Course

Lake Carlsbad Golf Course features two layouts: a par-3 executive course and a full regulation 18-hole championship course. The par-3 course spans 1,300 yards at par 27, with holes ranging from 80 to 230 yards, designed for beginners, seniors, and junior golfers and playable in under an hour. The regulation 18-hole course stretches 6,512 yards at par 72, situated in the foothills east of the Pecos River. Despite moderate length, the course presents substantial challenges through tight fairways, significant elevation changes, and small greens suited to various skill levels. Recent tee additions have increased difficulty options. The par-3 course runs alongside the Pecos River. Both courses utilize effluent water from the city's wastewater treatment facility for irrigation, with composting byproducts applied to tees and fairways. The facility is located at 901 N. Muscatel Avenue in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
