Laajasalo Golf is a six-hole, par-18 park-style course located in Helsinki, situated next to the sea. The course was founded in 1959, making it the second oldest golf course in Finland, and is operated by the Helsingin Golf Ry club, which was established in 1964. The layout consists of six par-3 fairways with lengths ranging from 66 to 135 meters. The course is designed to offer a challenge to the short game for players of all levels, from beginners to experienced golfers. The setting is a park-style course near the center of Helsinki, close to the ocean. The terrain was originally barren swamp land cleared by founder Keijo Autiokari. The course features grass greens and fairways, a significant evolution from its early days when greens were made of crushed brick treated with salt. The club maintains a laid-back spirit and a modern clubhouse with terraces where members and visitors can gather. Laajasalo Golf does not require a Green Card for play, allowing visitors to play without prior booking. The course is open from 10:00 to 21:00 on weekdays and Sundays, and until 20:00 on Saturdays. A typical round takes approximately one hour to complete. The facility includes a practice area with a putting green, a practice net, and a bunker, as well as a pro-shop offering basic playing equipment and a wide selection of club rentals.
