La Tahona Golf Club is located in Lomas de Carrasco, Canelones, and features two distinct golf courses within its residential community. The main course, known as Lomas, is an 18-hole layout with a par of 71, measuring 6,504 yards. Designed by architects Jorge Armas and Enrique Muñoz, this course was inaugurated in 1993 and is integrated into a setting of over 360 residences. The second course, located in the Altos de La Tahona area, is a 9-hole par 3 layout that opened in 2007, designed to blend fairways with common garden spaces. The club is equipped with a driving range and a putting green, both of which are illuminated and available daily from 7:00 to 22:00. La Tahona hosts more than 20 championships annually, including the Campeonato Abierto del Club - Copa Ing. Enrique Muñoz and the Interclubes - Copa Arq. Jorge Armas, which honor the club's founding directors. The venue also serves as a host for various national competitions organized by the Asociación Uruguaya de Golf Senior, including the Nacional por Golpes, Nacional de Parejas, and Nacional Match Play. The facility supports a robust junior development program, having produced high-performance players who have secured scholarships at United States universities. Notable alumni include Sebastián Sabella, Mateo Quiroga, and Lousiane Gauthier, among others who have represented Uruguay in international and national junior events. The club maintains a ranking system and facilitates handicap management through its dedicated mobile application.
