Kyoto Ohara Public Course is a public-access golf facility located in the Ohara area of Kyoto, approximately 30 minutes by car from central Kyoto. The course is set within mountains surrounding the area, known for the historic Sanzen-in temple.
The course features 18 holes totaling 6,209 yards with a par of 72. The layout includes four par-3 holes, ten par-4 holes, and four par-5 holes, providing varied challenge across both the front nine (OUT) and back nine (IN) nines. Both nines par at 36, with the OUT measuring 3,147 yards from the back tees and the IN measuring 3,062 yards.
The course offers multiple tee options accommodating different skill levels, with back, regular, and ladies' tees available. Notable longer holes include the 545-yard par-5 11th hole and the 512-yard par-5 7th hole. Shorter par-3 holes, such as the 160-yard 3rd, provide precision play opportunities.
Play is facilitated by electromagnetic induction golf carts for easy movement throughout the course. The facility offers flexible play options, allowing golfers to play full rounds or nine-hole sessions. The course is designed to be accessible to golfers of varying abilities and experience levels.
