Kings Mountain Country Club, built in 1945 and designed by Porter Gibson, opened in 1946. The course offers 6,483 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72, with a course rating of 70.5 and a slope rating of 121. Located a short drive from Charlotte, nestled among seventy-foot pines, the layout features an 18-hole design.

The front nine at Kings Mountain Country Club offers a forgiving experience with side-by-side fairways and somewhat straight layouts, while the back nine offers a more challenging experience with higher slopes and more dogleg holes. The scenic mountain course with its subtle elevation changes and tree-lined fairways presents challenges, risks and rewards. The signature hole, number 13, is a 436-yard par 4 that offers a breathtaking view of Kings Mountain.

The course is open to the public. The course has undergone design refinements over its history, with Dan Maples contributing as an architect in 1974 in addition to the original design by Porter Gibson.
