Kedleston Park Golf Club was established in 1938 following the closure of Markeaton Golf Club due to urban expansion in Derby. The course was designed by renowned architect James Braid, a five-time Open Champion, on mature parkland within the grounds of Kedleston Hall.
The club occupies a prominent setting overlooking the surrounding Derbyshire countryside, with the clubhouse positioned as a focal point of the facility. The course benefits from an established parkland landscape that provides both aesthetic appeal and natural challenge.
Kedleston Park offers extensive practice facilities including a newly renovated Scarsdale Short Game area, putting green, chipping area, warm-up nets, and a driving range. These amenities support both member development and visitor experience.
The club has a notable history within regional golf, being one of the founding members of the Derbyshire Union when it was established in 1913 under its previous incarnation. The course continues to host corporate events and open competitions, demonstrating its role as an established venue within the local golfing community.
