Karumba Golf Club offers a distinctive golfing experience where the sport meets the serenity of the Gulf of Carpentaria, featuring sand greens and surrounded by mangrove forests. The course is a 9-hole layout with a par of 68. The club's location allows players to enjoy expansive views of the Gulf of Carpentaria. The remote outback setting and sand greens present distinct challenges for golfers accustomed to traditional grass greens.

In 2023 and again in 2025, Karumba Golf Club hosted the Outback Queensland Masters, Australia's most remote golf series, with the 2025 event culminating with the Million Dollar Hole-In-One Challenge and spanning over 1,900 kilometres across Queensland's outback. The club has also hosted the Karumba Golf Club Open, established as a regional tournament.
