Irwin Country Club has served golfers in the Westmoreland, PA and surrounding counties since 1936, located in Penn Township and the Borough of Irwin. The course is a parkland-style design by architect James Harrison, who redesigned it in 1950. The course plays as a par 70 at 5,577 yards, with a course rating of 66.5 and slope rating of 115. Ladies play par 70 at 4,322 yards with a rating of 65.2 and slope of 109.

The relatively short course was built on rolling terrain, resulting in interesting lies in the fairways. The fairways are narrow and protected by several sand bunkers, while the medium-sized greens are very fast. Greens are primarily Poa Annua with Poa Rye mix fairways and tees.

Despite its name, Irwin Country Club is open to the public at all times. The course features golf carts available for 9-hole and 18-hole play and a putting green for warmups.
