Indian River Colony Club

Indian River Colony Club is an 18-hole, par 72 private golf course located in Viera, Melbourne, Florida, designed by Gordon Lewis. The course meanders through a residential community among single-family homes, natural preserves, and numerous ponds, creating a scenic and integrated landscape.

The course emphasizes precision shot-making and accuracy rather than distance, with seven tee options accommodating all skill levels: blue, white, black, red, and silver tees. From the blue tees, players face demanding carries over water on approximately one-third of holes. The white and black tees reduce length demands while maintaining shot-placement requirements. An executive silver tee course was recently added for shorter play. The course features exceptionally well-maintained, challenging greens that have been re-grassed with premium Jones Dwarf turf.

Notable characteristics include abundant wildlife native to Florida, including bald eagles, sandhill cranes, and various waterfowl. Each hole features distinct personality traits shaped around scenic lakes or ponds. The course attracts active membership with numerous weekly playing opportunities through men's and ladies' associations, couples formats, and mixed tournaments. The member-to-hole ratio of 13.1 ensures ample access. Typical playing time ranges from 3.5 to 4 hours.
