Houston Oaks Country Club - Oaks Course

Course Information Unclaimed

The 7,007 yard par 71 Oaks Course weaves through mature live oaks, streams and lakes. Originally designed by Ralph Plummer in 1956 and renovated by Finger Dye Spann in 2010 and Chet Williams in 2017, the course is located at 22602 Hegar Rd, Hockley, Texas 77447. The course has a rating of 74.0 and slope of 135, presenting a moderately challenging layout for golfers of varying skill levels.

The defining element of the course is an abundance of large oak trees that the course winds among, with many over 200 years old. The course features TifEagle Bermuda Grass greens and Celebration Bermuda Grass fairways. The facility formerly served as Tennwood Country Club, the recreational retreat for employees of Tenneco Oil and Gas, with underground bunkers designed as a command center transformed into classrooms and dorms for a First Tee facility.
