Hornsea Golf Club, established in 1898, is located in secluded parkland in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The current course opened in 1908 with an original design by Alex (Sandy) Herd, the 1902 Open Champion. In 1912, renowned golf architect Dr. Alister Mackenzie, credited with designing Royal Melbourne, Pebble Beach, and Augusta National, was brought in to enhance the layout. The course features mature fairways and superb greens, presenting a challenging test of golf that demands diverse shot-making and the full range of clubs. Set within picturesque parkland, the course offers a demanding but rewarding round, combining classic design principles with the natural landscape characteristics of the Yorkshire coast region.
