Hitachi Golf Club is a 7,234-yard, par-72 course located in Hitachi, Ibaraki Prefecture. Designed by Sadayoshi Manono, the facility opened on November 3, 1967, as the first golf course in the northern region of the prefecture. The course spans 820,000 square meters on the southern edge of the Abukuma Mountains, featuring terrain characterized by forested hills and valleys that take advantage of the area's Cambrian-era geological layers. The setting offers views of both the city and the Pacific Ocean.

The front nine presents a challenging mix of uphill and downhill shots, demanding precise control and strategic shot placement. The fifth hole is a 544-yard par-5 that requires an uphill drive, while the seventh is a 184-yard par-3 that carries over a valley. The back nine shifts focus to the expansive ocean views, featuring a variety of long, middle, and short holes. The eleventh hole is a 382-yard par-4 with a wide fairway, and the fourteenth is a demanding 422-yard par-4 that plays as a downhill tee shot followed by an uphill approach.

The course layout includes specific local rules to manage the terrain and hazards. Out-of-bounds is marked by white stakes, while repair areas are indicated by blue stakes. A unique local rule addresses the course's overhead power lines, requiring a free re-play if a ball strikes them. Hitachi Golf Club maintains a course rating of 70.8 and hosts various club competitions throughout the year. The facility offers a range of playing options, including plans for junior golfers and caddie-assisted rounds.
