Highlands Falls Country Club features an 18-hole golf course at par 70 with 6,130 yards from the longest tees and a slope rating of 122. The course opened in 1962 and was designed by William W. Amick, ASGCA. Greens are built to USGA specifications. The 550-acre private, member-owned, gated club is surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. The course sits at a 4,250-foot elevation.

The signature par-3 hole number 15 is perched on a rock ledge at the base of a 100-foot waterfall created by the headwaters of the Cullasaja River, which Golf Digest Senior Editor Ron Whitten described as "the most memorable par three in golf." The course and waterfall have been featured in Golf Digest, Golf Course Management, and Carolinas Green Magazine. The cascade feeds into the Cullasaja River, which winds throughout most of the property providing a lush landscape.

The course includes a practice facility consisting of a par 3 practice hole, chipping green and driving range, plus a 5,000 square foot putting green. Highland Falls is known for its Croquet pavilion with many Croquet events and tournaments, as well as its robust bridge program.
