The Irving Park Course, designed by Donald Ross in 1911, was a work in progress until completed as an 18-hole course in 1927. The course plays to a par of 71 and measures 6,016 yards. Irving Park presents a narrow corridor of fairways and Ross green complexes. The Donald Ross layout was renovated in 1998 by Kris Spence. The course is a private, members-only facility that is part of Greensboro Country Club, which operates two 18-hole golf courses. Irving Park serves as one of the club's championship courses and is considered a more demanding test compared to the club's second course due to its tight fairways and strategically positioned bunkers characteristic of Ross design principles.
