Green Eagle Golf Courses is located in Winsen (Luhe), just outside the Hanseatic City of Hamburg, and comprises a sprawling 186-hectare facility featuring three distinct golf courses. The flagship Porsche North Course, opened in 2008, is an 18-hole championship layout designed specifically to meet the demands of international professional tournaments. Stretching 7,057 meters from the Champions Tee, it ranks among the longest courses in the world and is the longest on the European Tour. The course is characterized by its extreme length and the pervasive presence of water, which borders or crosses 17 of the 18 holes. Strategically placed bunkers near the greens and natural grandstands for spectator viewing further define its stadium-style layout. According to the German Golf Association (DGV) course rating, the North Course from the Champions Tee is the most difficult course in Germany. The facility also includes the South West Course, a hybrid 18-hole layout currently under development as part of a larger project aimed at hosting the Ryder Cup in 2035. This course combines the original nine holes of the historic South Course, established in 1999, with a new nine-hole West Course section. The South holes feature fairway irrigation and two tee boxes per hole, while the new West holes are designed to be strategically demanding with water hazards playing a significant role. The terrain is defined by sandy heathland soil, birch trees, and juniper, ensuring year-round playability. Additionally, the club operates a public six-hole Par 3 course with lengths ranging from 60 to 151 meters, featuring water hazards and bunkers, which serves as an accessible entry point for beginners. Green Eagle has established a strong tournament history, hosting eight international professional events, including the European Challenge Tour in 2010 and the Porsche European Open since 2017. The venue is known for accommodating high-level competition, with the North Course serving as the primary stage for these events. The club also features a large driving range, "The Range," which opened in April 2025, offering 20 covered tees, a 350-meter length, and extensive short-game facilities, housing the Green Eagle Academy with four PGA professionals. The course is accessible via four tee boxes on the North Course to accommodate varying skill levels, while the South West Course offers two to four tee boxes depending on the specific hole section.
