Grampians Golf Club is an 18-hole sand green course located at Victoria Valley Road in Dunkeld, Victoria, approximately 6 kilometers from Dunkeld township. The course plays to a par of 70 for men and 71 for women, measuring 5457 metres and 4965 metres respectively. The course was officially opened on October 29, 1967. Situated at the base of Mount Abrupt in the Southern Grampians, the course features native wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, emus, numerous bird species, wild flowers, and hundreds-of-years-old grass trees. The sandy base allows year-round play, with generous fairways leading to well-protected sand scrapes, dog legs, and unforgiving bush requiring clever course management. Despite its apparent simplicity, the course plays significantly harder than its rating of 109. The course's opening was marked by an exhibition match featuring five-time Open Championship winner Peter Thomson, who set a course record of 71.
