Golfclub Murtal

Golf Club Murtal is an 18-hole championship course located in Styria, Austria, near Knittelfeld. Built in the 1990s, the course underwent a redesign by renowned Irish architect Jeff Howes, transforming it into a modern facility offering challenges for both single-digit handicappers and beginners.

The course is characterized by well-maintained, deep green fairways surrounded by the rolling hills of the Aichfeld region, creating a scenic Alpine setting. The layout incorporates numerous idyllic ponds, manicured flower meadows, and hidden streams throughout the routing, providing both aesthetic appeal and strategic play considerations.

Golf Club Murtal features one of the region's most modern and extensive practice facilities, including multiple practice greens and a driving range suitable for all skill levels. The facility includes a contemporary clubhouse with the café and restaurant "EssPar," offering regional specialties, fine dining, and views of the course from a sun terrace and climate-controlled winter garden. The club accommodates golf carts and trolleys and permits dogs on leashes. The course is easily accessible from the Knittelfeld West motorway exit, approximately two minutes away.
