Golf Shangri-la is a private 9-hole golf course located in Gandarilla, a small village near San Vicente de la Barquera in Cantabria, Spain, situated less than 6 kilometers from the town center. The course is set within the Hotel Playa de Méron sports facilities in a secluded valley surrounded by mountains at the top of a hill.

The course is characterized by its natural setting with over 1,000 trees that provide both aesthetic appeal and playing challenges. The landscape is particularly striking in late summer and autumn when maple trees display reddish foliage. Ten lakes throughout the course create scenic water hazards while serving as habitats for diverse wildlife, including ducks, geese, swans, herons, wild boars, and deer.

The terrain is notably elevated and challenging, with the course's mountainous location and abundant vegetation complicating play. The abundant natural features—trees, water hazards, and wildlife—define Golf Shangri-la as a nature-integrated course that prioritizes environmental aesthetics alongside golfing difficulty.
